Dr. Anushka Patel
Dr. Anushka R. Patel is the Assistant Director of the Division of Global Psychiatry and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. She is a trauma-focused clinical psychologist. Dr. Patel specializes in assessing and treating trauma-related problems with a cultural lens in low-resource settings. She concentrates on survivors of gender-based and interpersonal violence, using community-based participatory approaches in her work. Dr. Patel’s focus is to create scalable models of trauma-informed care in low-resource settings worldwide. Her program of research has been continuously funded by NIH since 2021, and her work has been cited in Al Jazeera and the New York Times.
