Dr. Lamis Al-Solaim is a research fellow with the Chester M. Pierce, MD Division of Global Psychiatry. She is a Child and Adolescent Psychologist.
In her fellowship, Dr. Al-Solaim works to address the need for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the Middle East. Dr. Al-Solaim hopes to address the need for a comprehensive multi-level system of mental healthcare in the Middle East through capacity building and research efforts, collaborating with experts in the field to propose and implement new interventions.

Dr. Al-Solaim received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saudi Arabia’s King Saud University, an M.A. in applied child development at Tufts University, and a Ph.D. in psychology from the United Kingdom’s Royal Holloway University of London. Her doctoral dissertation was published in a major scientific journal due to its pioneering observations on religious manifestations of obsessive-compulsive disorder in young Saudi women. She has since presented many of her findings at international psychology conferences and has received recognition for her expertise in child clinical psychology.
