Title: Dr. Jessica Magidson wins Junior Investigator award at CALDAR Summer Institute
Dr. Jessica Magidson, a fellow in the Global Psychiatric Clinical Research Training Program, was recently awarded the Junior Investigator Award to attend the 2015 CALDAR Summer Institute: Promoting Identification, Intervention, and Management of Risks and Problems of Substance Use in Marina del Rey, California, on July 29-31, 2015.
The Summer Institute is a key component of a larger effort, the NIDA-funded Center for Advancing Longitudinal Drug Abuse Research (CALDAR; P30 DA016383), which is intended to advance knowledge on the long-term nature of substance use and its interplay with drug treatment, HIV infection, and other service systems such as mental health, criminal justice, welfare, and medical care. More information about CALDAR can be found here.
Dr. Magidson’s work focuses on developing and evaluating interventions to address co-occurring substance abuse, mental illness, and HIV.
