Event Title: Dr. Bakht Rawan: "Somaliland and Its Healthcare System"

Description: Bakht Rawan, MBBS is a primary healthcare physician in the United Arab Emirates, currently observing at the MGH Division of Global Psychiatry. Dr. Rawan received his MBBS at Khyber Medical College in Pakistan and began his residency training in neurology. At the end of his first year as a neurology resident, he started volunteer work as a medical officer at the Hargeisa Neurology Hospital in Somaliland. He spent a year in Hargeisa and was actively involved in the treatment of patients suffering from schizophrenia, depression, epilepsy, PTSD and other ailments. Dr. Rawan has conducted extensive research on the co-morbidity of depression with psychoactive substance use in medical students in Pakistan. He has also researched on the relationship between artificial food coloring and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Dr. Rawan will present on his work in Somaliland.
