Description: The Chester M. Pierce, MD Division of Global Psychiatry and the Department of Psychiatry Center for Diversity are proud to invite you to our Global Psychiatry Dinner on Monday December 14, where guest speaker Attorney Michael Curry will present on racial inequalities in community health.

Attorney Michael Curry is currently the President of the Boston Branch of the NAACP and has held that position since his election in 2010. Referred to as an “Ambassador of the Joshua Generation,” Michael has over 18 years of dedicated service to the NAACP on the city, state-area conference, and national levels. He has over 20 years of legislative, regulatory, and public affairs experience, and has worked in civil rights, business, and health law to advance the mission of the NAACP. Attorney Curry serves as the Legislative Affairs Director & Senior Counsel at Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, which represents 49 health centers and serves over 800,000 patients.

Attorney Curry earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from New England School of Law, and later graduated from the inaugural class of the Executive Leadership Council’s Pipeline to Leadership Program. He was recently appointed to the National NAACP’s Executive Committee and was elected to the National NAACP Board of Directors in 2014.
