Ms. Holzman has been a Development Communications Consultant for many hospitals, social service agencies, homeless shelters, human rights agencies, schools, and museums since 2002.
Before that, she was Vice President for Marketing and Communications at the Boston Jewish Federation for 12 years. Ms. Holzman has been an American Jewish World Service volunteer six times, in Ghana, Kenya, India, South Africa, Thailand, and Uganda. In 1998, she documented violations of medical neutrality and human rights abuses in Kosovo for Physicians for Human Rights. Ms. Holzman grew up in Chicago, but has lived in the Boston area since returning from Peace Corps teaching in Liberia in 1969. She holds a M.A. in West African history.
In 2013, she spent five weeks in Liberia with the Division of Global Psychiatry creating fundraising materials for the University of Liberia.
