Dr. Asha Collins is currently a Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at McKesson Corporation, one of the largest healthcare organizations in North America. In this position she helps define and drive McKesson enterprise-wide strategies with its suppliers and customers, i.e. pharmaceutical companies, providers, payers and pharmacies.
Previously, Asha was a Director within Clinical Development Productivity & Quality at Quintiles, the leading and largest clinical research organization in the world. Prior to that she worked in Quintiles’ Consulting where she sold and managed engagements that focused on operational transformation and optimization within the biopharmaceutical industry, with a particular focus on clinical research outsourcing strategies and operations. Specifically, she helped define the transformation strategy for three different strategic partnerships between the Quintiles and their biopharmaceutical partners.
Asha also previously worked as a management consultant within the life sciences industry and federal practice at Deloitte Consulting where she specialized in the analysis and development of innovative solutions for leading pharmaceutical companies and federal science organizations (including the FDA, NIH, and DOE). As a management consultant, Asha’s experience spans technology investment and portfolio management strategies, organizational redesign and corporate strategy to design of global clinical development processes (with implementation across 27 countries).
Asha Collins earned a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh.
She has been working with the Division of Global Psychiatry since 2013 to help create a clinical trials unit in Ethiopia.
